The Happy Trails Children’s Foundation has announced the annual High Desert Shooting Fun Fair will be held 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the Lions Pride Park and Shooting Range in Lucerne Valley.
The family-oriented event will feature free admission and parking. Proceeds from this event benefit the Lucerne Valley Lions Club Foundation and the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation.
Attendees may try a variety of shooting styles including cowboy action and action pistol shooting and try out the new NRA 3-gun shoot with .22 pistols, .22 rifles and .12 Ga. shotguns. Also available are the guns of the Mountain Men and Buffalo hunters and/or the Civil War and guns of World War II and/or modern military rifles and pistols.
Gun enthusiasts also can see how fast they can draw by trying Cowboy Fast Draw with wax bullets and electronic timers or try the .50 caliber rifle and/or exotic and antique firearms. Shotgun are available to shoot at aerial targets or you can have fun with .22 rifles and pistols. The Lions facility also has BB guns for the kids to shoot.
Ladies and first timers are welcome. Friendly experienced shooters will be standing by to safely help. All guns and ammo provided. Participants are charged for the ammo you shoot.
American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA cards are accepted.
The range is open to the public on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. for those who wish shoot with their own guns and ammo. There is a fee for using the range on those days.
Eye and ear protection required for all participants and spectators in the shooting area (safety glasses and ear plugs will be available on site).
Also, hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas and chips will be available from the Lions Club snack bar. And visitors can enjoy live music.
